Movable Ink: a lunch-and-learn on being visible and memorable

How do you show up confidently, make a meaningful connection and help people remember you—whether you’re on LinkedIn or walking into a room?

That was the focus of the lunch-and-learn I delivered for the women’s employee resource group (ERG) at Movable Ink ahead of their annual company event. Bringing together my experience in LinkedIn visibility and networking, we explored how to be more visible and memorable online and in person.

The brief: feeling prepared for a big event

With a large company event approaching, the team wanted to feel empowered about meeting people and starting conversations. Networking can bring up plenty of questions: how do I introduce myself, what do I say, and how do I make a connection without feeling awkward?

The lunch-and-learn gave us space to talk honestly about those concerns and connect them to the wider question of how we show up professionally.

Connecting LinkedIn visibility with confidence in person

I brought my knowledge of LinkedIn visibility into a practical conversation about showing up, communicating who you are and being memorable. Online visibility and in-person networking both give people an opportunity to get to know you, understand what you bring and continue a conversation.

We explored introductions, starting conversations with intention and the confidence to put those ideas into practice. There was room for questions and open discussion, so we could unpack the concerns people actually had.

As Faye at Movable Ink described it:

“Grainne’s session created a safe space for open and honest conversations, addressing the elephants in the room when it comes to networking. She broke everything down, taking the time to unpack our questions and concerns and helping us feel confident about walking into a room, starting conversations with ease and networking with intention.”

What the team took away

Faye reported positive feedback after the session. The team felt reassured that their initial insecurities were normal and shared by others. They also came away with practical tools they could use when approaching conversations.

“More importantly, we came away with practical tools and the confidence to approach conversations feeling empowered and prepared.”

For me, that is what makes a lunch-and-learn useful: people leave with something they feel ready to put into practice.

“I’d highly recommend Grainne for any networking workshop or lunch-and-learn session. She helped us find the perfect introduction, understand networking best practices and build the confidence to put them into action.”
